1. Who can buy at CrashedToys?
We are open to the public. Most of the vehicles offered at CrashedToys in Dallas may be purchased by anyone. There are some vehicles listed offsite or as dealer consignments that may require a wholesale license to purchase.
2. What types of vehicles do you sell?
We facilitate the sale of motorcycles, dirt bikes, ATVs, snowmobiles, RVs, trailers, watercraft, high end cars, and other special or recreational vehicles.
3. Where do these vehicles come from?
These are total loss vehicles, recovered thefts, repossessions, donations, dealer consignments and public consignments. We facilitate the sale on behalf of insurance companies, finance companies, fleets, charities, dealers, and public sellers.
4. What is a “total loss” vehicle?
In general, an insurance company will designate a vehicle as a total loss when the cost to repair exceeds the value of the vehicle prior to incurring the damage. Other factors play a role in the total loss determination, such as: standards specific to different insurance companies, nature of the damage, and state requirements. Repair costs are generally estimated using retail parts and labor prices. The degree of damage on total loss vehicles, particularly motorcycles, can vary greatly. Some will have structural and cosmetic damage. Some will have only cosmetic damage. Most of the vehicles at CrashedToys start and run.
5. Are all the vehicles damaged?
No. While most will have some damage, many are sold with only normal wear and tear.
6. Do all the vehicles you sell have a salvage branded title?
No. While many will have a salvage title, we also sell clear title vehicles.
7. What is a salvage title?
A salvage title is a form of title branding, which indicates a prior owner deemed the vehicle a total loss. The brand is intended to stay on the title for the vehicle’s remaining life.
8. Can a salvage title vehicle be legally driven on the road?
In most states, salvage vehicles cannot be driven on public roads until they have been repaired, passed state-required inspections, and properly registered. In Texas, upon registration the vehicle would receive a “Rebuilt Salvage Title” and could then be driven on public highways.
9. Does CrashedToys repair vehicles before or after selling them?
No. All vehicles are sold as is, which provides our buyers the opportunity for savings. We can provide names of local businesses that can help you repair or customize your purchase.
10. Does CrashedToys sell parts off the vehicles?
We do not sell parts. We are obligated by our Sellers to sell the entire vehicle.
11. Do insurance companies offer coverage for Rebuilt Salvage title vehicles?
Yes. Most major insurance carriers will cover a salvage branded vehicle that has passed state inspection.
12. Do you provide transportation and delivery services for vehicles purchased?
We currently do not offer shipping services; however, we can provide information on companies that provide these services.
13. Can I inspect a vehicle before bidding?
Yes. We encourage you to visit the facility where you can preview and inspect inventory before bidding.
14. Will you sell my bike?
