In New York, dealers and dismantlers will need to provide Copart an operational license, a sales tax license and sales tax exemption forms. This applies to general businesses and exporters buying clean titled vehicles too.
The New York Department of Motor Vehicles issues all dealer, dismantler, business and junk licenses. There are several types of accepted licenses within each operational license category. Be sure to get your Certificate of Authority, too. This sales tax license is issued by the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.

Additionally, please complete the following forms and submit them to our Licensing Department via our License Uploader. These documents will be processed within one to two business days of receipt. Click here to watch a tutorial video on how to use the License Uploader.
General businesses and exporters should also get in touch with a Broker to buy salvage items.
